- Either you can go online and type in Debt org, or any type of description like this, or you can call the BBB org. and they should be able to direct you to a few companys.
- Look up Non Profit Debt Organizations on your browser. There are all kinds of uRL9Links) that will take you where you want to go. Jk
- Try Consumer Credit Counseling Services at 1-800-388-2227 they are the largest and oldest non profit credit counseling service in the nation and have offices in most all major cities. I used them several years ago and was debt free in 36-months, I highly recommend them.
- First, something you need to know is that when you contract a debt management organization to represent you, mortgage companies view this as filling for a chapter 13. Secondly, some of these organizations will not make payment until negotiations have been completed. This could very well take up to 90 days, and we all know what 90 days non-payment can do to your credit rating. Lastly, there isn't anything that these agencies do that you can't do for yourself. What you need to to is contact your creditors and speak with them. You will find that most of these companies are more than willing to work with you. You should have some of your income information handy. They may request that you fax the information to them, they know your credit report. It's right in front of them. In addition, you might want to pull your own credit to see how far it's plummeted. Annualcreditreport.com offers a free report from either experian or equifax. You don't necassarily need a tri-merge (pull from all 3 bureaus) because you can see the damage from one bureau. Keep in mind that some creditors only report on certain bureaus. Good luck
